One word: Pierogi. I tried pierogi for the first time in Kraków and was quickly obsessed with the filled dumplings. Food was the highlight of my visit! There was even a fair with food vendors right by Main Square. While I wasn’t too impressed with the attractions, I did enjoy exploring Kraków Old Town and seeing architecture from different centuries in one spot. I would absolutely visit Kraków again if I’m in the area.
Paris is one of my favorite cities in Europe and I couldn’t be happier to be back! It’s one of the few European cities where I actually enjoy all their attractions, from monuments to parks to cathedrals. I even enjoy the art museums! My boyfriend and I planned for 3.5 days in Paris and it was just not enough time to do everything on our list. I wish we had more time to simply wander the streets of Paris and take in the beautiful city. Needless to say, I’m already counting down the days until my next visit.
Palace of Versailles has been on my travel bucket list ever since my AP European History class. I read about the grandeur of the Hall of Mirrors and I couldn’t wait to see it in person. So when a Paris trip came up, I knew I wanted to visit Versailles. With plane tickets booked, I went into research mode but found the official website to be incredibly confusing. It took me a long time to even figure out what the difference was between Musical Gardens and Musical Fountains Show. To save you from the same research, I created this guide to hopefully answer questions you’ll have when planning your own trip to Louis XIV’s beautiful creation.

Edinburgh is every architecture lovers’ dream! There are so many buildings, monuments, and castles to marvel at as you wander the city by foot. The panoramic views of the city from Calton Hill will leave you speechless. And the history of Old Town Edinburgh caught my attention, especially the myths surrounding Mary King’s Close. Plus, there’s plenty of shopping to be done – really, what more do you want from a city! I can’t wait to come back to Edinburgh one day because a weekend is not enough!
With only a day’s worth of time in London, I knew I wanted to do two things – afternoon tea and shopping. There’s no one better to do this with than my bestie, a fellow shopaholic. This was a “treat yourself” kind of day and we definitely shopped till our feet were sore.
After my first trip to Amsterdam last year, I knew I had to come back (and this time without the parents). It was most affordable to fly to Europe via WOW air so my boyfriend and I chose to have Amsterdam as the first city on our 3 week Europe trip.
To continue our romantic getaway, my boyfriend and I chose the unique city of Venice. This was our first time in Venice and with only two days, we made sure to pack in all the main tourist attractions. We even crossed off “gondola ride” from our bucket list! No cars are allowed on Venice Proper so get your walking shoes ready! I do think the best way to explore is to walk aimlessly around the city, passing by all the shops and crossing over numerous canals. I would absolutely visit Venice again because two days is just not enough!
Of all the European cities that I have visited so far, Paris is in my top three. I absolutely loved it! I fell in love with the apartment buildings and their artistic balconies. I loved wandering the small streets and crossing the bridges along the Seine. I can’t get over the endless number of parks where someone can just sit or wander. And who wouldn’t love watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle every night! It was such a romantic place to be and the best spot to kick off my weeklong romantic getaway with the boyfriend.
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, I took a quick Dart ride to Malahide to explore the small town and visit one of the oldest castles in Ireland. I wasn’t blown away by the town, but my experience at the castle was well worth the visit.
