One word: Pierogi. I tried pierogi for the first time in Kraków and was quickly obsessed with the filled dumplings. Food was the highlight of my visit! There was even a fair with food vendors right by Main Square. While I wasn’t too impressed with the attractions, I did enjoy exploring Kraków Old Town and seeing architecture from different centuries in one spot. I would absolutely visit Kraków again if I’m in the area.
Paris is one of my favorite cities in Europe and I couldn’t be happier to be back! It’s one of the few European cities where I actually enjoy all their attractions, from monuments to parks to cathedrals. I even enjoy the art museums! My boyfriend and I planned for 3.5 days in Paris and it was just not enough time to do everything on our list. I wish we had more time to simply wander the streets of Paris and take in the beautiful city. Needless to say, I’m already counting down the days until my next visit.
After seeing instagram photos of Banff by friends and bloggers, I was determined to visit Banff National Park and witness the winter wonderland in person. I chose to visit in March to have the winter experience without freezing my toes off. On the drive into the park, I was like a child pressed up against the car window. I couldn’t get enough of the snowcapped mountains and towering evergreen trees along the route. What made me really fall in love with Banff was the frozen falls at Johnston Canyon. I loved visiting in winter but I can’t wait to visit again in the summer to get a different side of this experience.
Edinburgh is every architecture lovers’ dream! There are so many buildings, monuments, and castles to marvel at as you wander the city by foot. The panoramic views of the city from Calton Hill will leave you speechless. And the history of Old Town Edinburgh caught my attention, especially the myths surrounding Mary King’s Close. Plus, there’s plenty of shopping to be done – really, what more do you want from a city! I can’t wait to come back to Edinburgh one day because a weekend is not enough!
During my work trip to Manila, my boyfriend and I did a weekend getaway to Boracay. Boracay is best known for their beautiful white sand beaches and if this place isn’t on your travel list, it should be! We spent most of our weekend walking along the beach, exploring one station after another. And at night, we wandered under a blanket of bright stars. My highlight was definitely snorkeling in open water and seeing all the colorful fishes. For me, snorkeling here was better than in Hawaii!
After my first trip to Amsterdam last year, I knew I had to come back (and this time without the parents). It was most affordable to fly to Europe via WOW air so my boyfriend and I chose to have Amsterdam as the first city on our 3 week Europe trip.
Living in Northern California, Los Angeles is not new territory for me. Yet, I can’t wait to go back! Don’t get me wrong, the Bay Area is still far better than SoCal. But as a foodie, I do love trying new restaurants. And this time around, I found a few new favorites that might just be worth driving 6 hours on I-5 (and I hate I-5). I was sadly sick during this weekend so it was a struggle at times… but overall, it was a great way to spend the 4th of July weekend!
I went to Boston with my college roommate, Veronica, for MLK weekend. This was my first time in Boston and it quickly became one of my top three favorite cities in the United States. I became obsessed with the red brick streets and fell in love with the delicious food. I was also lucky to have Veronica as my guide because it was the perfect 3-day itinerary!
To continue our romantic getaway, my boyfriend and I chose the unique city of Venice. This was our first time in Venice and with only two days, we made sure to pack in all the main tourist attractions. We even crossed off “gondola ride” from our bucket list! No cars are allowed on Venice Proper so get your walking shoes ready! I do think the best way to explore is to walk aimlessly around the city, passing by all the shops and crossing over numerous canals. I would absolutely visit Venice again because two days is just not enough!
Of all the European cities that I have visited so far, Paris is in my top three. I absolutely loved it! I fell in love with the apartment buildings and their artistic balconies. I loved wandering the small streets and crossing the bridges along the Seine. I can’t get over the endless number of parks where someone can just sit or wander. And who wouldn’t love watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle every night! It was such a romantic place to be and the best spot to kick off my weeklong romantic getaway with the boyfriend.
